The 18th edition of the Puig Vela Clàssica has come to a close, once again confirming its place among the world’s most prestigious classic sailing events. Nearly 400 sailors representing over 10 nationalities gathered in Barcelona, where the city’s coastline transformed into a vibrant stage for maritime heritage.

Although weather conditions led to the cancellation of the final race day, two days of thrilling, picture-perfect competition showcased the beauty and spirit of classic sailing. Victories went to Mariska, Yanira, Clarionet, Amorita, Le Temps Perdu, and Stiletto, vessels celebrated for their elegance, history, and craftsmanship. Special recognition was awarded to Spanish boats Mariska and Yanira, recipients of the coveted Enric Puig Trophy.

The awards ceremony at the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona brought together representatives from Puig, RCNB, and the Catalan Sailing Federation, closing the event with a sense of pride and tradition.

From La Barceloneta to the Olympic Port, thousands of spectators lined the shore to witness a living parade of historic yachts - some over a century old, once owned by iconic figures like John F. Kennedy and King George V - sailing against the stunning urban backdrop.

With sails now lowered and harbors quiet, the Puig Vela Clàssica 2026 is already on the horizon, promising another unforgettable celebration of competition, camaraderie, and timeless elegance.
