The exhibition Photographs from l’Empordà by Jamie Hawkesworth, curated by the studio M/M (Paris), will be shown in Barcelona from October 7th to 14th. The spirit of Puig as a Home of Creativity comes alive in this project, conceived as a blank canvas for Hawkesworth to capture one of the Mediterranean’s most unique places: l’Alt Empordà.
The British photographer, renowned for his poetic portraits of architecture and people in Great Britain as well as for his fashion projects, works exclusively with film and meticulously hand-develops his own prints. The ten large-format reproductions in this exhibition have been carefully crafted by artisans in London.

Over three days, Hawkesworth traced l’Alt Empordà by land and sea, moving through the earth and waters of Cap de Creus. Guided by chance, his images resist the postcard, focusing instead on fragments and fleeting impressions.
These are not grand vistas, but notes caught in passing: light on rock, the curve of the horizon, a sudden texture revealed. Through his camera and patience, Hawkesworth transforms the everyday into something quietly extraordinary: an invitation to look again.
Photographs from l’Empordà can be seen from 7th to 14th October at Alzueta Gallery in Barcelona.
